The Department of Anthropology is proud to announce that PhD student Sophie D’Anieri has been awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student Program grant for the 2025–2026 academic year. Sophie will conduct research in Mexico as part of the world’s largest and most diverse international educational exchange program.
Administered by the U.S. Department of State and the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, the program supports efforts to increase mutual understanding between the United States and other countries. Fulbright recipients are selected for their academic merit, leadership potential, and commitment to cross-cultural collaboration.
Sophie joins a distinguished global network of Fulbright alumni that includes Nobel Laureates, Pulitzer Prize winners, and leaders in government, science, education, and the arts. We congratulate her on this significant achievement and wish her every success in the year ahead.
