PLASeres

PLASeres is an interdisciplinary network of graduate students with research focuses on Latin America. During the Fall and Spring semesters, we meet one to two times monthly in the Greenhouse over refreshments. Our goal is to provide a welcoming space for graduate students to meet on a regular basis. The group's activities include forums in which students share and receive feedback on their ongoing projects, papers, grant proposal, etc.; the conceptualization and planning of PLAS's annual conference in the Spring; sponsoring guest speakers, both among JHU faculty and from other institutions, as well as various film series; promoting roundtable discussions of participants' summer research sponsored by PLAS; and providing an informal venue for students to interact. Finally, our graduate student liaisons, in addition to organizing our regular meetings, provide students with a chance to voice their concerns and suggestions to the directors of PLAS.
