The competition for the 2009-2010 Prize Teaching Fellow in Latin American Studies is now open. The fellowship provides support for an advanced graduate student (3rd year or greater) to teach one undergraduate course relevant to Latin American Studies that is broadly conceived. Fellows can teach during either the Fall 2009 or Spring 2010 semester. The course, which should build on the applicant’s own research interests and expertise, will be developed under the guidance of the student’s academic advisor. The fellowship amount is $6,000.00.
Application Materials include: - Curriculum vitae
- Two page description of the proposed course detailing course objectives, teaching philosophy, and prerequisites, if any.
- Draft of the course syllabus.
- Two letters of reference.
Students interested in the PLAS fellowship should submit two copies of their completed applications, including the letters of reference to Professor John Russell-Wood, Director of PLAS, 404 Macaulay Hall. Email applications will not be accepted without prior permission.
