Research Fellowships

The Child on the Wing is a project of the Department of Anthropology at the Johns Hopkins University, funded by the Rockefeller foundation. The program focuses on the mobile trajectories of children's lives under conditions of ongoing political violence and economic uncertainty.

The length of the fellowship during 2004-2005, and 2005-2006 was one year at Johns Hopkins University, which included one semester at a fieldwork site. Six short-term fellows visited the  Johns Hopkins University for a one-week intensive workshop during October 2006 during which papers were presented and field-reports delivered. A final publication will be compiled from research contributions to be published in the languages of the fieldwork sites.
