JHU Green Blue Jay Awards

In honor of Earth Week, the Office of Sustainability will host the fifth annual Green Blue Jay Awards, recognizing individuals in the Johns Hopkins community who exemplify sustainability ideals and action on our campuses, at 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 20 in the Carpenter Room at the School of Nursing, 525 North Wolfe Street.

Among the three recipients of the award, this year, Anthropology Department Chair Deborah Poole and Professor Naveeda Khan have been selected as the recipients of the “By the Book” Award for their innovation in and significant contributions to the environmental field, paving the way for a more sustainable world. Their ongoing work to incorporate interdisciplinary environment topics into coursework and discussions is a model for others and enlightens the dialogue on sustainability on campus.

The award will be presented during the Green Blue Jay Awards celebration. They will be joined by several other recipients who have also demonstrated notable sustainability achievements in their own way. We will celebrate all of the recipients for making Johns Hopkins University an even more desirable place to live, work, and study.

Light refreshments will be provided.
